Six ways to keep up with what’s going on at GBTA Convention 2016

Do you use flight tracking services like FlightAware.com and FlightRadar24.com? In today's Take on Travel, Nancy Rissky tells us why they're so important. It’s no secret that a ton of news and information comes out of the GBTA Convention each year. This year’s event in Denver will be no different. Whether you’re going to GBTA or not, here are some of the best places to keep up with what’s happening.

1. Twitter
GBTA uses an official hashtag, which is the first place to look for up-to-the-second happenings at the event. Save #GBTA2016 to your favorite Twitter app. Follow it, read it and use it! Travel and Transport will be sending all of our event tweets out with the #GBTA2016 hashtag too. You can also follow us directly @TandTNews.

2. Instagram
Twitter isn’t the only place you can use #GBTA2016. Search for it in your Instagram app and see what happens – you’ll see all kinds of great images of stuff that’s going on at the convention! When you’re snapping pictures at the event, don’t forget to add that hashtag to your own posts. While you’re at it, go ahead and follow Travel and Transport for lots of great travel photos taken by our employee-owners!

3. Convention.GBTA.org
If you’re looking for the latest information on everything official that’s happening at GBTA this year, your first place to look is at the convention website. From information on every session and speaker, to what time the trade show floor will be open each day, you can find it all here.

You can also download the official convention mobile app for Android and iOS devices.

4. Google News
Get the latest news stories published about announcements and news made at GBTA by following our Google News search here. You can take it from there by adding search phrases to the search to fine tune exactly what you’re looking for. Google News is a great tool for events like GBTA but it is useful year-round for virtually any topic. You can even create alerts based on your searches if you have a Google account.

5. Mobile Guides
If you’re wandering around Denver looking for the best place to go, there are a ton of apps that will help you find out what’s going on. My personal favorites are Yelp, as well as companion apps Foursquare and Swarm. There are plenty of others out there that offer location-based ratings, reviews and suggestions on where to go and what to do while you're traveling. Check out our Guide to the Best Mobile Travel Apps for more ideas!

6. Insights.TravelandTransport.com
You can also keep an eye on Travel and Transport's Insights hub for the latest updates throughout the week. We’re looking forward to another great year at GBTA! Don’t forget to visit us at booth 2012 if you’re at the convention. Here’s a look at what we’re really excited to show you!
