New stricter security screenings on all inbound U.S. flights

New security measures that may include additional and stricter stricter screening of passengers will take effect on Thursday 26 October, 2017 on U.S.-bound flights. This may include additional screening and short interviews of passengers as well as additional screening on electronic devices larger than a smartphone.

Travel and Transport Statesman: Passengers flying to the US from today onwards are advised to allow extra time before their flight due to enhanced security checks being introduced for all US bound flights. The US government announced that travellers on all inbound international flights could be questioned by airline staff before being allowed to board the aircraft.
