GBTA Convention 2019 in Chicago was a success! Travel and Transport was there to talk about business travel and the technologies, roles and responsibilities that are shaping our industry with numerous travel buyers, suppliers and journalists.
As we said in our introduction to the convention this year, the daily work, challenges and opportunities impacting corporate travel buyers and travel managers today are in a state of constant flux. Transparency and fluency in new technologies are key to navigating the evolving travel industry successfully.
Here is a collection of some of our favorite moments from GBTA 2019:
Focus on What Matters
If you didn’t get a chance to stop by our booth this year, you missed out! This year we were lucky enough to be joined in the booth by Radius Travel. Our theme was Focus on What Matters and we loved speaking with attendees about what truly matters to them in their business travel lives and beyond.
We even let them write it on our walls!
IATA's New Distribution Capability (NDC) continues to be a huge topic of discussion across the global business travel industry and that continued to be the case at GBTA in Chicago. Travel and Transport’s Kristen Pratt was on hand at the event to participate in the discussion with travel buyers, suppliers, journalists and more.
Check out our white paper that lends more insight into IATA’s New Distribution Capability and keep up with the latest updates on NDC:
Travel and Transport Gives Back
GBTA is an amazing event and there are so many things to see and do, knowledge to be absorbed, partnerships to be made and parties to attend that it can sometimes be overwhelming. The city of Chicago plays an important role in Travel and Transport's story and this year, Travel and Transport took a night away from the hustle and bustle of the convention in order to give back to the community.
The Night Ministry is a Chicago-based organization that works to provide housing, health care and human connection to members of our community struggling with poverty or homelessness.
So proud to be part of the Travel and Transport team @gbta2019 as we partnered with The Night Ministry of Chicago to support their amazing cause. #focusonwhatmatters #giveback pic.twitter.com/bI1WEVXhYN— Chantel Windeshausen (@ChantelWind) August 7, 2019
But wait, there's more!
We couldn't fit everything into a single post so check out part 2 of this series, which covers some of the panel and education session highlights.
