Information has been updated for the three states still under review for the REAL ID Act compliancy extension.
Business Travel News issued the following update on January 4th:
Awaiting Either Sign-Off or Extension
These states are awaiting verification that the Real IDs they're now issuing will comply, and it can only be said for sure at this point that existing IDs will work through Oct. 10, 2018.
- New York
After October 1, 2020, residents of all U.S. states and territories – whether they’ve received an extension or not – will be required to have a REAL ID compliant license.
Travel and Transport’s suggestions:
- Communicate to all travelers (in the event they hold an ID issued by a non-compliant U.S. state or territory).
- Offer the information/links listed above for acceptable IDs for any states who are not compliant post-deadline.
Travel and Transport is closely monitoring the status and will be taking proactive measures if there are remaining states not compliant or under extension as we near the deadline.
This information changes often, so please refer to the Department of Homeland Security’s REAL ID Enforcement page for the most up-to-date information on state compliance.
