Your guide to GBTA Convention 2017

July 12, 2017 Mark Dauner

It's almost here! GBTA Convention 2017 kicks off in Boston, Massachusetts this Saturday, July 15. This year's overall theme at GBTA is "Convergence" and featured speakers this year include retired U.S. Army General David Petraeus and really fast swimmer Michael Phelps

That’s not even close to all that awaits you at GBTA.

Visit Travel and Transport at GBTA booth #1531.

If you’re at the event, you’re going to want to make sure to come see us at booth #1531. Here are just a few of the items we have to show you:

Visit DVI at GBTA booth #401

DVI (Data Visualization Intelligence), a Travel and Transport company, will be at this year's GBTA Convention to demonstrate how the right combination of data, technology and expertise can result in powerful solutions for business travel programs.

Visit booth #401, take in a demo of this truly remarkable system and meet with true travel innovators who are bringing data visualization and scientific insight to the travel industry.

Take in some informative sessions.

In addition to those inspiring keynotes mentioned above, GBTA Convention is packed with informative and educational sessions on a multitude of topics and ideas impacting the business travel industry.

You can get a list of all the sessions at the convention website, but we'd like to call your attention to one in particular: The Evolution of Technology in Travel Programs: What You Need to Know to be Prepared is happening Tuesday July 18 at 9:30 a.m. EDT.  According to GBTA, you should "attend this session if you are interested in exploring emerging technologies such as voice interaction, machine learning, Big Data, chat and 3D visualization to paint a picture of how the travel process will change for both the traveler and travel manager." You should also attend it because it features Travel and Transport executive VP & CIO Mike Kubasik as a panelist and DVI president Brian Beard as moderator.

Enjoy Boston

Although all of the cities that host the annual GBTA Convention are wonderful, Boston is truly special. It's a beautiful and vibrant city that is one of the world's leading financial and business centers. It's also home to so much of the United States' early history, including many of the important events that started the American Revolution. Most importantly, Boston is a very welcoming city to visitors. Travel and Transport has many employee-owners, clients and friends that live and work in the Greater Boston metropolitan area and we always feel right at home there! We think you should too.

If you'd like to learn more about things to do in Boston, visit the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, which has created a special site full of information for GBTA attendees.

If you're at GBTA, we hope to see you at our booth or at one of the many great sessions and events happening throughout the week. If you're not able to make it this year you can still get in on the fun by following the events at insights.travelandtransport.com and  on Twitter with tweets from our team @TandTNews. We’ll be using the official GBTA hashtag #GBTA2017.
